OUR WEDDING
We met while Maddie was working as a waitress at Rodney’s during her summer and winter breaks while finishing her degree at Shippensburg University. Mark had already graduated and was working as a kitchen manager at the restaurant—and he didn’t waste much time making the first move. As our connection grew, Mark began making the drive back and forth to Shippensburg to visit Maddie at her off-campus house and cheering her on at nearly every college softball game. Somewhere between the miles driven, the games played, and the constant support, it became clear to both of us that this was something truly special.

We spent Maddie’s final year of college making memories, laughing often, and soaking up every moment together. After graduation, Maddie returned to her hometown, and we took our first official step toward building a life together by renting our first apartment in Norwin. One year later, we bought our first home in Trafford, Pennsylvania—perfectly situated between both of our parents’ homes. Not long after, our family grew when we welcomed our Cavapoo puppy, Maple, who quickly claimed both our household and our hearts.
Mark proposed on a sunny but chilly Valentine’s Day in one of our favorite cities—Pittsburgh. Mark led Maddie to the Mount Washington overlook across from Monterey Bay, where he got down on one knee and completely surprised her. As if the moment wasn’t memorable enough, a WTAE news crew happened to be filming nearby and captured the proposal live. Before we even had a chance to share the news ourselves, friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors were already reaching out with congratulations after seeing it on TV. We ended the day with an unforgettable dinner at Monterey Bay, wrapping up a moment that was beautifully unexpected, deeply meaningful, and perfectly us.

We chose to have our wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico because we love the idea of a tropical celebration and wanted a place where our guests could escape the February cold and celebrate with us in paradise. Beyond just the wedding day, we hope everyone enjoys a little adventure, relaxation, and fun together—making memories on excursions, by the beach, and under the sun that we’ll all treasure forever.
